ANS1463E Unexpected error in cryptography library

I tried to install TSM client version 5.5.0 on RHAS 4.

I get this error:
ANS1463E Unexpected error in cryptography library.

dsmerror.log shows:

01/17/2008 15:28:22 ANS1467E ICC routine ICC_Attach returned: majRC = 2, minRC = 11, desc = 'FIPS: internal test failed, interface disabled'.

Possible solution

Bumped on this problem using TSM Client 5.4.1.0 on Ubuntu 8.04, connecting to version 5.3.4.2 and 5.5.0.0 servers. Fixed by setting "ENCRYPTIONTYPE DES56" on the client's dsm.sys.

On a side note, we don't have this problem with TSM Client 5.5.0.2 on RHEL 5.

My caso, my solution

Hi, I got SAP R3 running on AIX 5.2. I got the error ANS1907E durin an image backup, so I decide to update the ba client, previous version was 5.4.1.2, also tdp for sap is installed there, don't know which version. So I decide to update the BAclient to 5.5.2.10. BA works fine, but SAP archive didn't work. Archive logs show the following error:

I fount this on IBM site, it says that the solution is to reinstall the TDP for SAP. As there are some bussines implications, I decide not reinstall the TDP, but add the line ENCRYPTIONTYPE DES56 in dsm.sys file in the path /usr/tivoli/tsm/client/api/bin64 and it solve the problem. I didn't find any documentation for AIX-SAP/ORACLE, I found it for Windows-MSSQL (here), I guess I was lucky that it fix the issue.
