Hi Everyone,

Since last week when we had a tape stuck in a drive, we have noticed the following error appearing and the backup has been failing:

ANS1235E (RC-72) An unknown system error has occurred from which TSM cannot recover.

Could someone point me in the right direction on sorting this out please.

1. Take the drive offline so TSM is not waiting for it.

'q drive'

'update drive <library_name> <drive_name> online=no'


2. If you have support, call in IBM to help you fix the drive.
