Help, I'm desperate! Basically, 2 days ago our TSM unit started displaying these:

After doing a search I found that most people were recommending doing an "audit volume (volume name) fix=no" to see if there were any damaged files. If there were, run same command with "fix=yes". Well I have done just that. The process has gone through and marked some files on the tapes that I ran the Audit on as "Damaged". The problem is I don't know what to do next. My Backup Storage Pool to OffSite is Failing now because it's skipping all of these files that are marked as damaged. My question is, what do I do next to repair/fix these damaged files? I have tried moving the data onto a new tape but it also skips the Damaged files and ends with a status of Failed. I've thought about marking the tape as destroyed and rebuilding from offsite tapes but I want to know if there is an easier way. Any help would sincerely be appreciated.

Thanks,

Ken

in this situation you really have no choice but to rebuild your primary tape with copypool tapes. If you are not using diskpools, then it is possible that both your primary and copypool tapes are going to have the same damaged files.

The audit volume with the fix=yes option you have arleady done was the only other option.
