Hi Guys,

Am getting the below error

ANR8943E Hardware or media error on library 3583LIB(OP=8401C058, CC=-1, KEY=04, ASC=15, ASCQ=01,
SENSE=70.0-0.04.00.00.00.00.0A.00.00.00.00.15.01.7A.00.00.00.,
Description=An undetermined error has occurred). Referto Appendix D in the 'Messages' manual for recommendedaction.

Pls help to sort out this issue......
 
Look at the logs and see if there are any tapes associated with this error. If not, then the next logical thing to point to is the tape drive.

If it is the tape drive, call your vendor (IBM?) for service.
 
Are you always doing a certain thing when this happens? Is it always a certain tape?
Have you tried powercycling the entire system? (halt the server, power *everything* off, restart the server again) The key= numbers are all over the place. Might be a scsi card. If you were getting key=03 each time I might suspect it was a tape.
 
Last week only we have replaced the tape drive and some library components also,

But again the problem is coming...

the following error is being displayed.

Code 0x90B7
"Drive or Media Error" was displayed immediately after pressing Ok.

I presume that you have the library connected with your server using Fiber. Check the HBA and fiber cables.
 
MSG on ACTLOG: OP=8401C058 - Lib driver version pb

=> Not possible to make new lib path after changing the drive
=> I/O error ANR8840E Unable to open device lb0.0.0.2 with error 2.

I found a solution , after trying scsi cables and many reboot.
The library driver version is not supported by TSM.
Using the TSM management console, i see that my lib driver was on 5.2.9 version after a server upgarde from 5.2.4.2 to 5.2.9 TSM server.
I connected my server to another by net use to copy the adsmscsi.exe and tsmscsci.exe from and into
%adsm%\console.
Check that the service is running and automatic.

Try to make agin the lib path was OK.
so i can make the labelisation.

If your pb is not resolve, look for the lib driver version
