Hello once again,

I am having issues with my Activity Log report, when I run the report I get the screen in the attachment, and the "This may take several minutes to complete" takes close to 2 hours... (this was not the case a few months ago)

Is there a way for me to check:

#1 The activity log size
#2 Clear the activity log
#3 Do something to make this faster

**EDIT**: It just finished (after 1 hour 50 minutes, and it made a 90MB report for the 24 hour period... I am assuming something is really bad on my server :(

Thank you for your help.

After reviewing the log for a while, the errors (about 2000+ of them) happened between 07:19 AM and 07:21 AM

All of them are error: ANR1173E (Space reclamation for offsite volume(s) cannot copy file in storage pool storage pool name: Node node name, Type file type, File space filespace name, fsId filespace id, File name file name.)

Then, @ 8:19 AM, I get 115 warnings (with different tape names), I assume due to process timing out:

ANR1163W Offsite volume UTO332L2 still contains files which could not be moved. (SESSION: 729, PROCESS: 44)

Reading this, am I understanding that TSM wants me to bring back 115 tapes from our offsite facility and run RESTORE STGPOOL??

I suppose it could mean that but that depends on a few tidbits.
From what I have read your offsite volumes cannot perform reclamation for some reason. Offsite reclamation uses the onsite volumes to reclaim offsite volumes. If your onsite volumes are unavailable (usually set with status unavailable, if disk then offline, if tape not in your library) or destroyed, TSM will attempt to use your copy pool volumes, which of course is offsite and unavailable too.

Also, if onsite reclamation is working fine, you could potentally have one onsite volume to many offsite volumes. I mention this because though your may have 115 offsite volumes to reclaim, it could be significantly less with onsite volumes.

I would first check to see which storage pool is attempting to reclaim prior to 7:19 AM and check if all volumes for that storage pool is in the tape library and/or online and not set to status of destroyed.
