5.4.0.0 client on OES/SLES 9

our set up as follows

OES/SLES 9
TSM Linux Client 5.4.0.0

We have noticed that the client (or could be server) crashes the OES server.

The schedule jobs starts off, and but fail to finish, when doing a Q session on the server we can see the the server session in IdleW state. Out of the ten OES servers are backup, this occurs on 7 of them on a regular basis (twice a week).

Anyone come across this before and know of a fix.

We use 5.4.1.2 on our SLES 9 boxes - no issues there...

We use 5.4.0-0 on OES SP2 (Linux) and have no problems. On SLES 10 we ran into problems with the client claiming about "Objects changed during execution ... skipping" . This was pinned down to be a problem with the XFS filesystem in SLES10. We use XFS as the default filesystem in OES as well, and have no problems there. We had to put SKIPACLUPDATECHECK YES in dsm.opt to avoid the problem, and now the backups run fine.

So check your filesystem setup, and try using the above option and see if it resolves your problem.
