Good Afternoon David,
If I understand your question,
the answer is no.
The netapp lun which is mounted
on the client as a block device and not a remote filesystem, is a file in
the wafl filesystem on the netapp. Using ndmp to backup the netapp, netbackup saves
a file. So it can only restore a file.
I would think that they could
use code on the netapp to parse the file(lun), but while the netapp
is a unix server, it is not a full service unix server. At least that is the
netapp party line.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Netbackup lun Restore
Can Netbackup 6.0 restore a single file from a lun??
I have able to backup and restore an entire lun successfully
but I am now wondering if Netbackup and parse the lun for a single file and
restore that file.
