Hi there!, I will start
trying this things you wrote. Its a file server with milllars of small files,
but what i dont understand is why it makes 2% percent while out of office and
when I came back to office it makes again another 20%, its seems that it takes
rest like me during not office hours :$,
BR and thnx!

NetBackup Slow during out of office hours
Unfortunately, the percentage complete backup
bar is about as reliable a Microsoft's file copy bar. You know, the 10
seconds remaining file copy that takes 30 minutes? If you want accurate
data you need to open up perfmon and get your KBps there. There are
hundreds of things that could cause a backup to slow down. Is this a file
server with millions of small files? Did disk utilization go up after
hours because of running processes? Have you tried multiple streams
versus single stream? If you kick off the backup before going home will
it still be 20% in the morning or only 2%? You are going to have to do
some investigating.
Good luck!

NetBackup Slow during out of office hours
Hi all,
First of all I am a noob in backup systems.
I am having such a estrange issue with the Veritas
NetBackup 6.0:
1.
I launch a manual backup of one data server ( about 160Gb )
2.
Check the proccess during working hous: every thing OK.
It’s backuping as espected.
3.
Check before going back home at the last minute of working
hours 20% completed.
4.
The next day morning at first minute check and see ( 22%
completed )
So in 7hours from 8am to 3:00am 20% and in 17 from
3:00am to 8:00am next day only 2%. What can make that to happen?
