RES: [Veritas-bu] Windows Exclude List
2005-06-08 10:53:30
Vefify if don't has extra spaces at the end of line, below has some
examples of exclude lists.
Windows Client Example Exclude List
Assume that an exclude list contains the following entries:
C:\users\doe\john
C:\users\doe\abc\
C:\users\*\test
C:\*\temp
core
Given the example exclude list, the following files or directories would be
excluded from
automatic backups:
â?? The file or directory named C:\users\doe\john.
â?? The directory C:\users\doe\abc\ (because the exclude entry ends with \).
â?? All files or directories named test that are two levels below users on
drive C.
â?? All files or directories named temp that are two levels below the root
directory on
drive C.
â?? All files or directories named core at any level and on any drive.

Assunto: [Veritas-bu] Windows Exclude List
Hi everyone,
I have a policy for a Windows 2003 server that lists it's backup selection as
follows:
D:\
E:\*
The E: drive is about 750GB and by using the asterisk in the selections I can
break that up over multiple tape drives and multiple jobs. This is working
fine. The problem I am having is that there is at least one directory under E:
that I want to exclude. I have entered into the Windows Client properties
under the exclude list the following:
E:\foo\
However, one of the jobs that the asterisk produces when I run this policy is
the very same E:\foo\. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a better way to
do this?
