You need to create the Media Manager debug logs. Create a directory with the
same name as the
Media Manager service or process that you want to monitor in:
 installpath\Volmgr\debug\
Consult the Netbackup Troubleshooting Guide for detailed instructions.

According to the Netbackup Troubleshooting Guide you can also edit the file
installpath\Volmgr\vm.conf to increase the logging level for the Event Viewer
Application logs.

You can also set up Windows event viewer logging, but I do not think it will
give you the
information you are looking for:
If the Master server is W2k you can create the file on the Master server:
installpath\VERITAS\NetBackup\db\config\eventlog. When this file exists NBU
will write messages to
the Windows Event Log. Within the file you can set values for severity and
type of message to log.
Instructions for how to do this can also be found in the Netbackup
Troubleshooting Guide.
