An obscure case where you will erroneously see this error is if you have a
class where you're backing up Win2K clients and put in the "System State:"
directive and then put a Windows NT (not Windows 2000) client in the class.
The backup will fail with a 150 error. I've seen this several times.
You *can* mix Win2K and NT clients in a class as long as the "System State:"
directive is not used.

are you running anything like a bp.kill_all during the night (maybe to take
your own special non-netbackup backup)?
Do you have any job that is killing anything? Perhaps it is killing your
backup as a case of mistaken identity?

Several times now, I've gotten an error 150 (User termination) on my nightly
backups. However, I know that nobody actually terminated the job.
This past night's were on filesystems directly (scsi) connected to the
master/media server so there should be no network or other communication
issues.
Is anybody else having this problem? Know what to do?
