Setup is:
Compaq 120186-b21 32/64bit HBA
to Gadzoox Capellix 3000 FC/AL San Switch
to StorageTek 3250 bridge
to StorageTek L80

Went direct to the bridge from the HBA, removed Gadzoox from equation, and
had same issue. Had worse luck connecting to an ATL P1000 via Compaq HBA one
day I could see 4 drives the next 1 then 2 etc (connected directly via HBA
no switch)...

When I replaced the Compaq HBA with a qlogic all was perfect (same with the
ATL issue).

Compaq doesn't play fair. Have to have their HBA to talk to their storage,
we haven't found a non-compaq compatible card yet.

Re STK techsupport, still waiting on 3rd level regarding final conculsion if
they are compatible with Compaq HBA. Having just as good of luck with their
support as I did with ATL.

Didn't add any new firware to the STK bridge or L80 all other firmware is up
to date.

Dave,

What kind of bridges are you using?
What is firmware level on the bridges?
Are you using fabric or AL topology?

I never heard anything about incompatibility
between SCSI<->FC bridges and FC HBA.
Did you get anything helpfull from STK support for your bridges?
Did you try to install newest firmware for your bridges?

STK support for relabelled Crossroads bridges is outpriced
and rather dissapointing according to my personal expirience.

Thanks,
Andrew
