Similarly, IBM LTO-4 works fine on Linux with IBM tape drivers, with no
problems. And IBM LTO-1 and so forth, in the past.
There's also an IBM redbook on how to setup NetWorker with IBMtape, I believe.
You have to disable NetWorker CDI.
It's true that with NetWorker CDI, you may run into problems, but you can
easily
touch /nsr/debug/cdidisable

We've been using IBM LTO-3 tape drives on Linux with no problems. I only
remember reading about not using the IBM driver. Perhaps it's fine, but
we've always used the native Linux tape drivers.
