Zfs is a new filesystem type which comes with solaris 10 since the 0606
release.... It is extremely useful for carving up disk space for zones, and I
would expect that if you're getting into zones, then you'd be wanting to use
zfs.... See 'man zpool' and 'man zfs', currently however only the 7.3.2 client
can backup zfs at all - all previous versions fail utterly to read a single
file. There is a hotfix for 7.2.2 if you want it - but the fact remains that
the savesets 'All' function doesn work unless filesystems are listed in vfstab,
which can be done, it's rather inconvenient however, and there's the risk of
missing some data when new filesystems are added.

What is a 'ZFS' filesystem?

Hmmm, well I'd say 7.2.2, but then you have to back up ZFS, that needs 7.3.2.

What you don't say is what OS your NetWorker server is, or how big your
datazone is.

7.3.2 on Linux is terrible, and has scalability issues, even with only 600
clients defined, and no more than 150 in any savegrp - where 7.2.2 worked just
fine! I can't speak for any other OS.

My recommendation would be upgrade the server, first, to 7.2.2. Then only the
clients that need ZFS support should be on 7.3.2. It's not officially
supported, having a higher rev client than the server, but it should work.
