This kind of spreadsheet is already in place, :-)
does not only contain the matrix of drives + storagenodes,
but also WWPNs, driver + firmware releases, parallelism, etc. etc.

... and it's heavily used in a Windows environment,
where you cannot "realy" bind WWPNs to \\.\TapeX-names :-(
