I'm also getting a lot of this error on my NetWare servers, backup just hangs. 
Savegroup is running but nothing is writing/saving to tapes.

Server
        NW7.2.1 running on Solaris 10
Clients
        Windows 2003, Windows 2000

On a particular drive we get
        [server name]:D:\ 1 retry attempted
        [server name]:D:\ save: RPC error: Unable to send
        [server name]:D:\ aborted due to inactivity


Any clues?
