Are we talking about flashing the BIOS or the firmware? Is is the same
thing?

Librado: Yes. You can download the BIOS firmware from LSI web support page and
also the instructions, it's pretty straight forward.

I've not tried flashing the firmware/BIOS yet, but LSI said we could do
that if it would make us feel any better. Not sure if it's reversible --
not they we'd care -- but they said it would essentially turn it into a
22320 card and no longer a 22320-R. I'm curious, though, what happens to
your settings and/or devices attached to those cards when you do this?
Do they disappear? Would you need to re-configure after doing this?

Librado: I have no choice, the 2 LTO-2 tape drives and the library are not
showing up using the 'inquire' command after installing the card from the box,
till I flashed the BIOS. After flashing the BIOS, the library and tape drives
showed up and was able to run jbconfig to configure the jukebox.

Also, have you ever changed the speed settings on the devices under the
LSI configuration software for your card, or are you just using the
factory settings? Did flashing the firmware fix your problem?

Librado: I'm just using the factory default for speed setting and yes, it fixed
my tape library/tape drives problem.
