Teresa,

We do not have an equivalent to standalone backup. However, for your site it
does depend on your configuration. For example, you may be able to boot a
system into a cluster, or have a spare system disk which you can boot from.
If either of those two options provides you with NetWorker, you can
certainly restore your OpenVMS system disk, use writeboot, and then reboot
using your rebuilt system disk.

Subject: VMS client and local, non-Networker backup

Hi,

Our VMS admin was told that, even if we're backing up our VMS clients
with Networker, we should continue to do local backups (outside of
Networker) for the system information. I assume this is for disaster
recovery. Is anyone doing this? Is there a better way?

Thanks.
Teresa
