Hey Teresa,

I used to be a VMS system admin. We used to do a standalone backup of the
system disk once a month for
DR purposes. That way all the system files are "closed" and clean.

We do this to a certain extent with our unix volume groups... backed up outside
of Networker to
help rebuild the system prior to restoring data.

Regards,
Guy Novello

Hi,

Our VMS admin was told that, even if we're backing up our VMS clients
with Networker, we should continue to do local backups (outside of
Networker) for the system information. I assume this is for disaster
recovery. Is anyone doing this? Is there a better way?

Thanks.
Teresa
