Make sure they know that such "fuzzy" backups may or may not restore properly, 
as Andy R. intimated earlier today.

Thanks to all who responded,  Hi Kevin I have been mailing the Novell
Admin back and forth and
he seems adamant that he would only ask his management to bring the
email system down for backup if
they had no other option they are a "24x7 shop". He wants to go with to
creating a new management class within
the policy domain that the NetWare server residesin that mgmt class
would use DYNAMIC (or SHRDYNAMIC)
as its copy serialization. If possible you can still email me the
details of your presched and postsched setup.
I have never done that and it might be useful if not now in the future.
