I thought that might be a possibility, but we were at the end of our
migration process. All the big files from the big clients had already
been migrated. We had less than 2 Gb of data remaining to be migrated off
and that was from about 10 different clients.

I'm running a restore to another client now, migration is running, and we
just got the preempted message. So today's restore is going to work
without issue. There is some particular combination that causes it to
occur, but it's not so rare, because I have seen it before.

I often help TSM along by killing processes, just because I'm (my customer)
too impatient to wait for a drive. I'm hoping all this will go away next
week when we install a new LTO library with 4 drives.

Thanks,
Deb

Hello,

perhaps the allready running process (migration, reclamation, backup stg,
etc)
is reading and writing a very big file. I think the process will not be
stoped
befor the current file is finished. In such cases we help TSM to stop the
current process making its input/output volumes unavailble for the short
time.

Regards,
Krzysztof
