What I think is you are getting tape drives as defined but not available
till mt2.i.e TSM devices .So smitty Tivoli devices>>>>>.



So what I would do is delete them and use smitty devices and add them
manually to correct minor and major no: rather than to run auto detectcmd.

I feel your connection is ok but proper controller nos not getting
configured.

I have  TSM 4.2.1 on AIX 5.1, running on a pSeries machine. Recently
installed 2 HBA's(6228) on the server to connect it to SAN.

When i ran the Discover SAN attached devices from smitty i am getting the
following error.
