Eh?  The announcement says:

          Now you get extended tape capacity with all models of the IBM Magstar
          3590 Tape Drives. The 3590 Model B11, B1A, E11, and E1A Tape Drives
          shipped on or after March 3, 2000, now support IBM's new Extended
          High Performance Cartridge tape, ...
