Eric,

        I would try reducing the Retain Extra and Retain Only parameters of
the copy group associated with the nodal data management class.  You could
reduce the latter to zero and wipe out all deleted files.  As a side issue
(or benefit) you would also reduce the number of inactive versions being
kept when you reduced the Retain Extra parameter.
