throughput is pretty good.

To calculate sustained throughput, you should look at the elapsed
time...not the data transfer time.

In the cited example, the elapsed time was 1:46:35  which is 6395 sec.

Thus, the throughput was 38.54 GB / 6395 sec  => approx 6.17 MB/sec
