?? Well, you need it to run a map. And you need a map to support the web
client users.
The background daemons will run just fine without an ovw running. Is that
what you
are thinking?

We are using Netview 6.0.2.
This may be an old question.
I remember that the ovw daemon(the gui) was required for some processes in
Netview 6.0.x . What were they?
