Shoot.....I forgot to add another fine detail.....

Multiplexing is set to "1".......We've had RMAN recoveries to fail on 
multiplexed RMAN backups/recoveries, so we've changed all our policies on every 
master server (over 105 of them) to not use multiplexed rman backups.
