NB 6.x can backup FreeBSD 6.x but not 7.x. I suspect the latest 5.x can backup
NB 6.x also. You may need to install the misc/compat5x port. ldd(1) will be your
friend with checking libraries etc.

Please paste any errors you are getting, and the output of:

 #ldd /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bpbkar

 -aW
