Ok, so I'm not looking for a critique of my backups windows, since the
configuration was an accident (a window opening was added to do an
impromptu FULL during the week, and then accidentally got left there.)
but I'm just wondering if anyone has thoughts on the behaviour of the
scheduler starting jobs.
=20
My FULL window for a certain servers is 01:00 Saturday morning to 05:00
on Sunday morning, with a frequency of 4 days.
This ensures that if a "make up" manual FULL is run on a Monday, the
frequency is short enough that the scheduled FULL will still run the
following Friday night (Saturday morning)
=20
So, because of an issue a few weeks ago, a window was added from 01:00
to 05:00 on Wednesday morning to allow a FULL to re-reun because of two
previous failures.
=20
so because this window wasn't removed, it ran agin the following week,
but here's the timestamps of the images:
=20
June 29 - 02:27
July 2 - 11:43 (this is fine, and what I would expect....4 days and
7 hours after the previous one)
July 6 - 02:38 (this one is interesting....3 days and 15 hours after
the previous)
=20
here's where I'm confused.
=20
July 9 the window opens again at 01:00 and is open untill July 10 at
05:00, which is 4 days +2 hours after the previsou backup.
=20
if the scheduler looks for new jobs every 10 minutes, it should have
kicked off a full on July 10th, @ approx 02:48 at the latest, correct? 2
hours and 10 minutes before the window closed.
=20
Anyhow, the Wednesday window is now gone, so this won't re-occur, but
regardless, I didn't get my Friday night FULL.
=20
Any ideas why the job didn't kick off on the 10th??
=20
Paul
