Mark,

Checkout the VERITAS NetBackup Performance Tuning for Version 3.2/3.4 UNIX
Operating Systems
http://ftp.support.veritas.com/pub/support/products/NetBackup_DataCenter/240733.pdf
This should apply to netbackup 4.5 and 5.0 also.

There is also a solaris 9 tuning doc located here:
http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/264967.htm

We have a SUN e250 runing solaris 8.

This is what our settings are set to
# cat /opt/openv/netbackup/NET_BUFFER_SZ
262144
# cat /opt/openv/netbackup/db/config/NUMBER_DATA_BUFFERS
256
# cat /opt/openv/netbackup/db/config/NUMBER_DATA_BUFFERS_RESTORE
256
# cat /opt/openv/netbackup/db/config/SIZE_DATA_BUFFERS
262144

Your milage may vary. Your own settings could end up being quite different
than mine.
