One way is tldtest.

For example, in a script you could

        echo 's i' | /usr/openv/volmgr/bin/tldtest -r /dev/sg/c1t1l1

(obviously, your device path will be different);

Or you can fire up tldtest and type "s i" yourself.  "s d" gives you the
drives 
and "s s" the slots.  "robtest" is an alias for tldtest that lets you skip
the
"-r /dev/sg/blahblah" parts.
