I'm in the process of replacing my ATL7100 library with a STK L700. The problem
is I have some DLT7000 tapes that contain images that I have extended the
retention period on. If the ATL is gone and I need to recover an image from one
of the ATL tapes, can it be imported into the L700? I know the robotics and the
barcodes are different between ATL and STK so it's not just a matter of load
and go. Somehow the tape has to be relabeled externally so the L700 can handle
it. But ... didn't the External Volume Label get written to the image headers
when they were initially created in the ATL7100? If so, how do I resolve this?
I'm probably making this more complicated than it is. Can anybody relate a
success they've had in accomplishing this?
Regards,
Dennis
