I haven't used the 8.x client yet, but if your installation didn't create 
a "servers" file in the "res" folder, then there was something wrong with 
your installation, I think, as I've never seen any earlier client versions 
fail to create that file.

So you are saying that "servers" file doesn't exist at all, anywhere in 
the structure under "nsr" folder?
And, if it does, are all the servers listed in there spelled correctly, in 
FQDN notation?
