Hello,
One additional note, some of the manufacturers only use re-branded tape
lib, so if you think you are buying HP you may be getting "ADIC" ( not
that its a bat thing) so if you like support from particular vendor that
might be compelling reason for buying from them.

We use an HP MSL 5052, 4 SDLT drives, 48 slots, cinnected via fiber to our
SAN.
Me, I'd throw the thing out, and switch to a LTO-3 or LTO-4 library. I get
more tape errors, and aggravation, from this library than I had with years
of LTO tapes in HP or Dell 8 tape autochangers.
However, I may just be bitter and having a bad day, so ... :-)
