Hello,
Does not seems to be enough information to help you.
Does your Linux machine die on you or your backup fail, have you checked
the logs on the Linux server to see what is happening, you say when you
run it manually during the day the backup is sucessfull, that leads me to
believe either your backup server is getting overloaded during the time
you backup the Linux server or the Linux server is busy for some reason,
try to backup during different time and see if the problem does not occour.
Also are you using any oracle utilities for backup or is it file system
backup, in this case, dont you want to avoid backing up open oracle files ?
Check logs for NIC errors, CPU busy etc to narrow down the time and cause
of it.
Thanks
