LTO-2 does 35MB/s native. It can do more if it is able to compress the data while writing.

Windows can handle larger block sizes, it just that the "Default" size
is 64kb. Refer to Legato's Performance Tuning Guide. I did it on all 5
of our backup server's and I routinely get 50-80 MB write speeds using
LTO-2 drives.
