You shouldn't need to bother your LAN guys.  All this is done on the server, so 
as long as you have access and priv's to change network card settings you 
should be OK. 
 I always think 'investigating' sounds better than 'playing' ;-))

Hi Allen,

thanks for your suggestions.

I will start playing (NO not playing, servers are in prod.)
a little bit with card settings and see if this speeds up something.

Unfortunately the LAN guys configuring the switches
are in a complete different department,
which makes IP stuff not easier :-)
