We are performing MB backups here as well and I would agree that Legato
NW is slower than bat guano on a hot day in July!

Our setup:

Windows 2003 Server
        Windows NW 7.2

At the HQ level where we have just under 100 mailboxes it takes between
7-9 hours for this setup with a GB backbone. ArcServe was much faster...
