Kenneth,
The real answer, as you've probably guessed, is that you need
shedloads of licenses...

I have a couple of PPT slides (I'll send them to you direct as the list,
I understand, doesn't do attachments)

Basically you need
A client license for each physical client
A cluster license for the cluster
A client (appears to be under workstation client on an nsrlic report)
for each logical group within the cluster A SAN storage node for each
SAN attached tape drive for each physical node (say 2 nodes and 3 drives
= 6 SAN storage nodes) I use AlphaStor but you may also need DDS on the
Networker server to handle the tape drive sharing.

With clients as described (set to saveset = all) we backup the following
(W2K cluster)
Physical node A and B - System files and local drives
Cluster - Quorum
Logical groups - drives associated with that group (whether
controlled by node A or node B)

Sounds a bit involved but it does work.

Hope it helps

Regards
Bob

Subject: [Networker] Storage node in a windows cluster

Hi everybody
Does anybody have any experince or knowledge of, how a storage node
should be installed in a windows cluster envirorment? I am thinking both
licens wise and how it will see the data of the members of the cluster.
How will it handle the virtual nodes ? And what about san connected tape
drives ? In theory I should need one storage node licens, and all data
in the cluster would belong to this storage node right ? nay I don't
think so!

I don't have anything setup yet, but I would like to do this on our
windows cluster, and let it backup all its own data through the san
instead of the LAN.
