I find strange that just because not being certified would crash
machine.
Check it out. Try to install v7.x in eval mode and see if it happens
again. If yes, it has nothing to do with 6.1.3 being not
tested/certified
with AIX v5.2. I guess that could be the reason, but it is easier to
check than to downgrade and have crash again.

The controllers are 6207 - PCI Differential Ultra SCSI LVD.

The problem is now resolved with Legato Tech. Support, as what we
expected there's an O/S issue.

Legato NetWorker v6.1.3 is not compatible or certified for AIX v.5.2,
we need to upgrade to NetWorker v7.x or downgrade our server O/S to
5.1.

Downgrading the AIX O/S to 5.1 is easy for us, since the server box is
not in production yet, upgrading to NetWorker v7 will entail lots of
licensing issues/requirement.

FYI,
We have been using this jukebox for almost 4+ years now on a RS/6000
F50 server and having no problems except for DLT 7000 'tape leaders'.

Thanks for all your urgent reply.

4 of the DLT 7000 drives are direct attached using SCSI adapters and 2
are daisy chained.

Sounds like it is related to your SCSI device or driver. What are you
using in the server to attach to the library?

Subject: [Networker] URGENT HELP on jbconfig

Hello All,

We have a new backup server and we are trying to install the jukebox
(STK 9714 with 6 DLT 7000 drive), as soon as we run 'jbconfig' the
server initiates a system dump and reboots. Same thing also happens
when we run the 'inquire' command. Can somebody tell if this is an
hardware of software issue?

Environment: Unix-AIX 5.2
NetWorker: v6.1.3
Tape Libray: STK 9714

Thanks in advance,
