If you start the backup from the NetWare client, do you get normal
throughput?

We have a case open with Legato about this very issue: backups started
at the NetWare client (6.0 + SP3) sustain ~10MB/s; backups started at
the netwoker server (also Solaris here) frequently drop to 100KB/s.
