You can get a first order approximation of your load and idle periods
in nsrmgr by doing the following:

  * Start nsrmgr
  * Select the "savesets/latest month" to get 30 days of saveset data
  * Select "savesets" in the tree
  * Press the "summary reports" button
  * Select show "count"   [1]
  * Select group by "save hour of day"
  * Select pivot by "level"
  * Press the chart button

This will produce a chart like http://www.koshume.com/images/load_by_hour.png
showing when savesets are starting by hour of the day and by level.  And yes, 
this
can even be done during the eval period as pointed out below  :-)

[1] To see the load in other ways, instead try "sum of elapsed (sec)" and 
"average of
    totalsize".
