In case it helps, i turned my tape drives to maximum concurrent jobs 1
and so far it hasnt happened anymore, but i dont know if that was
just luck.

Yesterday I changed "Maximum Concurrent Jobs = 1" in the director and
this night all backups finished successfully. So it´s devinitively
using concurrent Jobs that causes that mismatch and it did not occur
until I upgraded to 3.0.1 so I think it´s a bug in that version.

Since the same thing worked for us both i'm curious, are you using
attribute / data spooling?

Yes, I use spooling but I disabled it now for a test. The result was the same: "The number of files mismatch". So I think spooling is not the reason.

I just tested again concurrent jobs but this time I used filestorage instead of autochanger/tape. It failed with filestorage too! Just the failuremessage differs a little bit:

12-May 16:38 swlinbck2-sd JobId 21019: Volume "tmp1" previously written, moving to end of data.
12-May 16:38 swlinbck2-sd JobId 21019: Error: Bacula cannot write on disk Volume "tmp1" because: The sizes do not match! Volume=393523396 Catalog=207
12-May 16:38 swlinbck2-sd JobId 21019: Marking Volume "tmp1" in Error in Catalog.
12-May 16:38 swlinbck2-sd JobId 21019: Job swtemp01.2009-05-12_16.38.28_04 waiting. Cannot find any appendable volumes.

But again even with filestorage: When I run just one job and wait until that job finished to start the next job it´s working. Just concurrent jobs fail.
