Absolutely.
Anyone who says you should read the source
to find out how to use a program is talking nonsense.

My experience is that BackupPC was fairly hard to get running,
due mainly to a lack of common sense on the part of the documenters,
who seem never to have thought about what difficulties
people on planet earth might actually meet when setting up BackupPC.
But once it is running the help on the web interface is very good.

It reminds me rather of CUPS in this regard.
