Hi everyone,
i installed amanda for a centralized backup of my ubuntu 8.04 LTS mail
and fileserver (total space needed approx. 650GB for a fullbackup (with
a lot of image files, i do not need to backup those too often, so i will
end up at about 500GB).
I bought 4 x 1TB Disks for the backup server to create a nice
backup2disk strategy.
I also have a 200/400 LTO drive which I would like to use for longtime
archiving.
My plan was to use the chg-multi script so that I could backup to the 4
different harddisks but unfortunately i was not able to get it to work
with chg-multi script, i always got the message that there is no media
in the slot although the slot was online.....
For testing I now created an amanda.conf file, created 15 slots with a
virtual size of 500000MB (I want 1 fullbackup to fit on one tape),
switched back to chg-disk.

What does this mean ?:

is this just the estimate timeout summary? What does STRANGE mean? What
is REP??
How can i turn off the estimate?! Is it bad to turn it off?
What does gtar mean with:

Why should the file or directory not be there anymore?
Many questions... I hope someone can give me some hints.
All in all if i look at the backup summary, it seems to be "ok" except
/dev/sdb1 which failed?!
