AW: hdd makes problems --> dma
2004-09-21 04:21:29
Thank you!
I tried it
/dev/hda:
setting xfermode to 66 (UltraDMA mode2)
but the read timing is as slow as before :(
/dev/hda:
Timing buffered disk reads: 64 MB in 11.38 seconds = 5.62 MB/sec
Or is this speed normal?
Regards
Sebastian

Not really amanda related, but what the hell.
I get the same problems on a harddrive in my laptop. The drive is in fine
working order, it seems to be a relatively harmless driver (timing) problem.
Being unable to set dma transfers is normal for an udma drive, try to use
hdparm -X 66 /dev/hd<?>
Have fun,
