Increased dtimout to 7600 and it worked!

Ah found it! It was I the amanda.conf file. Its currently set to 

dtimeout 3600

What would be a reasonable number to set it to then? Again, should I
restart the amanda locally and on the server too?

Which file is it normally in? (sorry for dunce question)
Does amanda need ot be stopped and started in order for this to become
