You've configured Amanda to do a full backup at least every 14 days, but
you're only using 6 tapes. Any particular reason?

The two are orthogonal. I have a dumpcycle of 4 days and a tapecycle of 12
tapes, meaning that I have a minimum of 2 level 0 backups in storage (and a
minimum of 3 if I'm not in the middle of overwriting one of them). See
http://amanda.sourceforge.net/fom-serve/cache/160.html for details.
