This is the same as in amanda.conf.

Here is a partial example of the index file
20031009_0.

[root@l... secun]# less 20031009_0
/
/lost+found/
/grub/

This file is in a directory named "linx" with lowercase ell.

Sector Unknown wrote in a previous mail:
[root@Linx amanda]# less amindexd.20031009154918.debug
...
amindexd: time 0.115: > HOST Linx
amindexd: time 0.115: < 501 No index records for host:
Linx. Invalid?

But your host seems to be named with an uppercase "L".

But then a little further:

amindexd: time 5.205: > HOST linx
amindexd: time 5.205: < 200 Dump host set to linx.

Now it finds at least the host, with lowercase.

amindexd: time 14.835: > DISK /home
amindexd: time 14.836: < 200 Disk set to /home.

And it finds the disk in that host.

amindexd: time 14.875: > OISD /
amindexd: time 14.875: < 500 No dumps available on or
before date "2003-10-09"

But it doesn't find the indexfile for the specified date.

What is the result of the amrecover command "history" at this
moment?
Does it line up with the contents of the index directory?
