I have installed amanda reading docs/INSTALL step by step.
   I have read the FAQ.

But you prabably still missed something. :-)

When I do "amcheck -c mail" (mail is my configuration), the error is
"WARNING: serv10: selfcheck request timed out. Host down?"
   -----I have no firewalls.
-----I have increased timeout and I have the same error.
-----On the client I have amandad on port 10080.

How do you know?

-----On the server, after I execute "amcheck -c mail" a port less than
1024, is opend.
-----On tcpdum port 10080 client and server seems to comunicate:

But communicate only in one way. Are you sure the amandad client
gets fired up by (x)inetd? See the debug files in /tmp/amanda/amandad.*.debug.

tcpdump port 10080 on client says:
13:39:42.111021 web.ambra.ro.693 > serv10.amanda: udp 117 (DF)
13:39:52.104184 web.ambra.ro.693 > serv10.amanda: udp 117 (DF)
13:40:02.103514 web.ambra.ro.693 > serv10.amanda: udp 117 (DF)

tcpdump port xxxxx on server says:
19:39:53.067463 web.ambra.ro.693 > serv10.amanda: udp 117 (DF)
19:40:03.066788 web.ambra.ro.693 > serv10.amanda: udp 117 (DF)
-----I dont want to start loking at the code. So plese help me.
